Currently, commercial buildings -

From 1st October 2008 anyone intending to sell or rent out any commercial building having a floor area of 50 square metres or more will need to show any prospective purchaser or tenant an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for the building, unless it was on the market before 1st April 2008. After this year this “holiday” will be removed.

Newly constructed buildings will already have an EPC which will be required by building control
